WEEKDAYS 6:00am-10:00am

I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers, and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

The Parents Television Council has unwittingly given Mercedes Benz a shot of additional publicity by claiming that the car company's Superbowl commericial sets a bad example. It features Kate Upton (in slo-mo), whaddaythink?

The Man and The Hombre

Posted 1/23/2013 11:25:00 AM

Tomorrow, Thursday January 24th, is the free public visitation for Stan Musial at Cathedral Basilica from 2pm until 8. Todd and I were talking about the ‘who’s gonna fill those shoes’ factor and of course Albert’s name came up. While the local newspaper talked with Red, Mike and other current Cardinals after the passing of Number 6, the USAToday sought out Albert, interviewed him about Stan and gave him a front page picture and a featured article. Not to belabor the discussion, which also came up during the Albert/Cards negotiations, but we wonder if he’s kicking himself.  We don’t know what went down (really), but in the heat of those talks, perhaps neither side saw the forest for the trees. Sure maybe the Cards brass were hardliners, maybe Albert’s agent was too, but it eventually comes down to “The Man” and that reference is meant for Albert, ‘the man’ ...

Joe Walsh and Daryl Hall tear it up!

I've been a BIG fan of "Live at Daryl's House" ever since I discovered it (by accident!) on one of the music channels available to cable/satellite subscribers. When I say I 'accidently' discovered it, the scenario was that I was flipping thru channels and saw 'Live at Daryl's House" and thought to myself 'who is Daryl?" I had NO idea it was Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates fame and I also had NO idea of the versatility of Daryl Hall as a musician. He plays along (and sings) with clasic rockers as well as contemporary artists (the Neon Trees episode remains one of my favorites. In any case, you'll get the tru 'organic' nature of this t-v show when Joe Walsh comes to Daryl's house and they jam together for the first time in their careers.

Check out this plant with "Jagger lips" (When Kieth was asked to comment, he mumbled something, then rolled up the plant and smoked it) http://bit.ly/Vk1zWr
