I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers, and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

I was lucky enough to visit the studio a few years back and even those who aren't fortunate enough to actually go INTO the studio do... 'the stroll'! Seems EVERYONE wants to replicate the Beatles stroll which of course became the album cover for their Abbey Road release. That album was the highest selling vinyl in 2010 and 2011!! Abbey Road was just de-throned by Jack White's vinyl release of "Blunderbuss" in 2012. Blunderbuss JUST prevented a 'three-peat' by the Fab Four by just 4,000 copies! Vinyl releases continue their upward momentum. There were 5 million vinyl albums purchased in 2012, an 18% increase over the number bought in 2011. I like this trend. Vinyl is an organic adjunct to the music contained within the cover. Zeroes and ones cannot match that experience.
