I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers, and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

Last night I saw the movie "Not Fade Away" for the 2nd time. The first time I liked it ALOT, the 2nd time I fell in love with it! Sopranos creator David Chase picked James Gandolfini to play the dad of the kid who aspires to be a rock and roll star. Upon this second viewing, I realized and appreciated how nuanced Gandolfini"s performance is. Chase's other Sopranos alum, Steven Van Zandt was in charge of the music. He procurred permission from hard-to-get source materials of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and more while also writing a killer original that the New Jersey aspiring garage band known in the film as The Twylight Zones perform called "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre". I'm gonna get the soundtrack, it's that good! ...and something tells me that seeing it TWO times won't be enough. Have a rockin' weekend, see "Not Fade ...
