The Sheldon Art Galleries celebrates St. Louis’ 250th anniversary with the Imaging of The Founding of St. Louis exhibit, at the Bellwether Gallery of St. Louis Artists and History of Jazz Gallery. The exhibition brings together paintings, drawings, print and sculpture by Oscar E. Berninghuas, Karl Bodmer, Charles Bird King and others, and pays tribute to the Native Missourians with native regalia, art, and artifacts. For the first month of the exhibit, a handwritten page from August Chouteau’s narrative of the settlement, will be in view.  The exhibit opens February 7, and will run through to August 23rd.
