Air Personality

Weekender Rik Anthony (that's Rik without a "c" as in Rick, family was too poor, couldn't afford one) is a native of North West Indiana. Since birth, Rik has had a passion for radio. After graduating from Hobart High School he joined the Air Force to be a Radio Announcer. He graduated from the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) in Indianapolis in 1978. He is still in the Air Force and works at Scott Air Force Base when he's not working for us.

Rik came to KHITS via California, Guam and Colorado. Being in the military you bounce around a little. He last worked at KUAM-FM (Classic Hits) in Agana, Guam. Yes, they have several commercial radio stations on that little island in the West Pacific. Rik cut his teeth in commercial radio at KKFM in Colorado Springs, working any shift he could. It was there when he got involved syndicating comedy commercials. He worked freelance with the Rock Comedy Network and Contemporary Comedy Network.

Rik says, "I have moved to St. Louis and I'm here to stay! I love everything about St. Louis. The excitement of the city from its sports teams and concerts to the museums and parks. The best thing about St. Louis are its people. They made me feel welcome. St. Louis has everything I have been looking for."

Rik has been married to the same wonderful lady for 18 years. They have two teenagers and are very active. Rik coaches Roller Hockey in Glen Carbon, IL. And also enjoys record collecting, computers, fixing up his home and being with his family.

Check him out weekends on KHITS.
