Proofread your Resume
Before sending your resume to employers, it is extremely important that you proofread your resume so that it's completely error-free. Errors in your resume implicate to your perspective employer that you do not have an eye for detail, that you cannot spell and that you will make errors while working for them. Therefore an error in your resume will practically guarantee that you will not get an interview or the job.
In your resume, you must eliminate all misspelled words and mistakes in punctuation.
The most common mistakes to watch for are: inconsistent spacing between words and sections, inconsistent use of state abbreviations and missing or incorrect use of punctuation marks, such as quotes and commas.
Finally, you should show your resume to at least two competent friends for review. Another set of eyes will almost always see something that you missed.
