KSHE2 Turns Two!
Posted 1/3/2009 12:00:00 AM
Around 1pm on Sunday, December 17, 2006, KSHE2 Classic KSHE, Free Form Classic Rock, began programming! In that time many in the industry have adopted our model of PBS style underwriting ads. We believe that KSHE2 is the first HD2 station to have advertising (February 2008). We are also the first HD2 station to air a live rock concert.

We have two shows produced voluntarily by our staff. The first is Brit Rock, a one-hour show produced by Les Aaron. So far, he has delivered 47 shows! Also Rick Sanborn does "The Dance", on Saturday nights. The show features dance oriented music of all kinds (except Disco!) Each weeknight at 9pm, we play an entire rock album. Sunday nights at 9pm we air radio specials supplied by various labels. Two weeks ago we aired Jimi Hendrix' Electric Ladyland
40th Anniversary Special.

We continue to get enthusiastic response from listeners and practically every day I hear from new ones! We continue to develop new programming and add more music every day. We are playing more than 4,000 songs!

Every new technology has its glitches and we have had ours, but thanks to our excellent engineering staff, Sam Caputa, Ralph Brancato and others KSHE2 is the best sounding radio station that we have ever heard!

Everything has moved forward according to expectations and we are certain that 2009 is the breakout year for KSHE2 and HD in general. We can tell that we are moving from being a cult/techie favorite to the mainstream audience.

This spring we will equip a KSHE truck with banners and speakers and hit the streets at any events that have potential listeners. Lastly, we have been so busy that it took an e-mail from a happy listener to remind us of our birthday!
