RANDOM RICK-NESS

I hope you’re playing Bob Dylan’s “Christmas In The Heart” during this holiday time. It came out last year. Here’s what the Washington Post review said “Launches Dylan into the rarefied pantheon of pop icons who’ve contributed truly memorable songs to our communal Christmas jukebox…and it is awesome”. I love turning people onto to this…Click ‘listen’ right below the album cover in the upper left.

Merry Christmas!

MORNING MUSINGS

Morning Show Musings for Tuesday, December 7th

Okay, last week we talked about effervescent tablets you drop in your drinkie to give it that yummy bacony flavor. But, if that's not enough for you, why not consider peanut butter cups...with bacon inside?!!! Really! Find 'em here:  Click HERE

Legendary NFL quarterback "Dandy" Don Meredith died on Sunday of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 72. He was the QB for the Cowboys when they joined the NFL back in 1959 and he led the team to the 1966 and 1967 NFL title games, both of which they lost to the Packers. Meredith retired from football at the age of 31, just before the start of the 1969 season, and that's when he REALLY became famous and beloved. Dandy Don went into broadcasting! He became part of ABC's original "Monday Night Football" announce team, along with Howard Cosell and Keith Jackson, and he stayed there until 1984. (Okay, he had a brief three-year affair with NBC between 1974 and 1977, but he came back.) One of Meredith's trademarks was to sing Willie Nelson's "The Party's Over" whenever it looked like a team had the game won.

Here's the open of "Monday Night Football" from 1973. Take your seasickness pills before watching:

And here's Dandy Don hawking Lipton Tea with Today Show weatherman Willard Scott:

And here are some highlights from his playing days (and, of course, examples of his silver tongue):

You've seen the lovely lady, Tammy Banovac, in her undies waiting to get checked by the TSA at an Oklahoma City airport. Click HERE

Well, a gent wearing nothing but a Speedo made it through the security checkpoint at Sky Harbor International in Phoenix. And Mike Mueller even wrote "I (Heart) TSA" on his back. Isn't that sweet? Click HERE

And now, former "Baywatch" babe Donna D'Errico was singled out and ordered to get one of those full body scans at Los Angeles International Airport, but she insists the motive was NOT security. She believes the male TSA agents pulled her out of line simply because she's hot. Click HERE

Auburn QB Cam Newton and Oregon running back LaMichael James are among the four finalists for the 2010 Heisman Trophy announced yesterday. The Tigers and Ducks meet in the BCS National Championship Game on January 10th. The Heisman winner will be announced this Saturday.

We wish you a Merry Christmas!...unless you're a boss who's laying off 400 employees right before the holidays. Burger King is undergoing massive corporate restructuring, after being sold to the private investment firm 3G Capital for four-billioon dollars, so they're firing more than 400 employees across North America. Rick and John believe the only thing worse than being fired weeks before Christmas is getting your pink slip from this guy: Click HERE
