R.E.M.'s collaboration with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder surfaced online this week. The track, called "It Happened Today," will officially appear on R.E.M.'s new Collapse Into Now album, due out March 8th.

 

The guys from R.E.M. and the members of Pearl Jam have been friends for a while and have teamed up in the past. Vedder has joined R.E.M. on stage for various performances and he also inducted the group into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

 

Patti Smith, Peaches and guitarist Lenny Kaye also make guest appearances on the set.

 

R.E.M. also posted a trailer for Collapse Into Now on its website.
