PETER FRAMPTON RECALLS CHILDHOOD MEMORIES ON NEW ALBUM

5/11/2010

Peter Frampton's new album, the critically-acclaimed set Thank You Mr. Churchill, is without a doubt the most personal album of his catalogue. The opening title track deals indirectly with his father's safe return from World War Two, and the standout track, "Vaudeville Nana And The Banjolele," talks about his grandmother introducing him to the world of music -- along with his childhood memories of his parents, both of whom recently died.

Frampton, who turned 60 last month, explained that it's very easy for him to talk lovingly about his family: "I was very lucky. I had a great family, I had amazing parents, y'know wonderful brother and everything. So, y'know, compared to other situations that I read and see about and everything -- I was incredibly lucky. I am left with these nuggets of warmth."
