4/9/2010

Jersey Shore is heading back to New Jersey! MTV confirmed the worst-kept secret in the world on Thursday -- that the second season was filming in Miami. However, they assured fans that season two would still have some Jersey flair.

The network announced, "It's official, the 'Jersey Shore' cast began filming Season 2 in Miami. Once the boardwalk heats back up, the series will return to the Jersey Shore to complete the season."

The new season premieres on July 29th.

SERIES STILL CASTING

MTV has launched a new website aimed at generating new castmembers for Jersey Shore. A message on Jerseyshorecasting.com reads, "It's summertime, baby! Bangin' beats, hot bodies, icey cold brews and boardwalk bashes. Only the hottest can handle the heat. And this new Summer Share is looking for some new roommates."

An MTV spokeswoman said the site is, "a general casting notice for Season 2 in case we want to explore the option of bringing on new cast members."

To apply, you must fill out a lengthy questionnaire with prompts like "Brag! What are you best assets? Physical, material and social."

Meanwhile the production company behind the show is reportedly looking for Persian-Americans to star in a similarly-themed show. 495 Productions and Doron Ofir Casting have announced that they're casting a "Persian version" of the MTV hit and are seeking applicants who are 21 or older, "appear younger than 30 and are outrageous, outspoken and a proud Persian-American."
