The Queen of daytime television, Oprah Winfrey, is ending her long-running show next year but fans won't get a chance to miss her as Winfrey has already announced she will be hosting a nightly show on her own, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), titled, Oprah's Next Chapter. The show is slated to premiere in late 2011 shortly after Winfrey ends her daytime talk show.
Winfrey said in a released statement, "My vision for OWN is to create a network that inspires our viewers and makes them want to be who they are on their best day."
As for her new show, Winfrey will be traveling around the world and having conversation with some of the world's most interesting people. The network explained, "From the Taj Mahal to her beloved oak tree, the Great Wall to her own teahouse, it's a whole new kind of Oprah show. If she can dream it, she'll do it!"
Winfrey's new OWN network is a joint venture between Winfrey's Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc. The network will be available in 80 million homes and will replace the Discovery Health Channel.
