Neal McDonough was reportedly fired from ABC's Scoundrels after refusing to film love scenes with co-star Virginia Madsen. Deadline.com reports that McDonough, who is Catholic, is known for refusing to do racy scenes. The New York Daily News reports that the actor nixed scenes with on-screen wife Nicolette Sheridan in season five of Desperate Housewives and also said no to sex scenes with his character's girlfriend on NBC's Boomtown.
A source told Deadline.com, "It has cost him jobs, but the man is sticking to his principles. McDonough is reportedly set to lose as much as $1 million for Scoundrels.
Actor David James Elliott has since replaced McDonough. ABC officially explained the move as a simple casting change.
