Dr. Conrad Murray, who is currently facing criminal charges in relation to the death of Michael Jackson, is fighting to keep his medical license. TMZ.com reports that Murray's attorney has filed papers to fight a motion by California's State Attorney General to have the doctor's medical license suspended as a condition of his bail.
Murray fears that if his license is suspended in California, it will also be suspended in Nevada and Texas.
According to Murray's attorney, Ed Chernoff, his client was in financial hot water before Michael Jackson's death and is now, "without fear of overstatement, hanging on by a thread."
Chernoff is allegedly working for free but Murray will have to cover expert witness and other court-related costs.
Murray is currently free on $75,000 bail. He was charged
with involuntary manslaughter by acting "without malice" but also "without due caution and circumspection."
