Gerard Butler stars in the new action film Gamer, in theaters today (September 4th). Gamer is set in the near future when humans mind-control other humans in large scale online games and the newest game by Ken Castle, played by Michael C. Hall, is a savage fantasy game where people use prisoners as avatars and fight to the death, until Kable, played by Butler, convinces his controller to let him play his own game.

Gamer is rated R and has a running time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Gamer also stars Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Amber Valetta and Alison Lohman.

Gerard Butler says Gamer's storyline is not unrealistic: "This is a rush, it is insane when you put the stuff together and yet it's all completely within the bounds of reality in terms of our story that's what I love when action comes out of character and plot, it really does, it's not just gratuitous."

Ludacris explains the plot of the film: "The whole movie is set around having chips implanted in people's brains, of course, and with that being said I feel like that is, as the leaders of the humans in the resistance group, of course this is wrong because this can be a catalyst to take over all of mankind, and with that being said of course I have my people with me and we are definitely setting up ways in order to come back exactly that."

Michael C. Hall comments on his singing and dancing scene: "It was in the script from the beginning that when Kable shows up at Castle's house he has a little surprise for him, or a little welcome in the form of a soft-shoe lipsync to Sammy Davis Jr. singing 'I've Got You Under My Skin' and I just took it from there."

(Simon) "I don't even know what the hell you're talking about, I just play games man." (Humanz Brother) "That's right, it is a game, you wanna win it don't you?" (Simon) "Yeah."
