Authentic German Gasthaus Atmosphere. Dreamland Palace is the only authentic German restaurant in Southern Illinois. Dreamland Palace is located in the historic town of Foster Pond and housed in the historic Dreamland Palace building that once was a stage coach stop saloon, circa 1875. Today, Dreamland Palace is the closest re-creation to a German gasthaus with German beer steins, coo-coo clocks, oil paintings, tapestries and German plates.
Dreamland Palace Ltd. serves authentic German cuisine, featuring: Sauerbraten, Rouladen, Schweinebrat, Schweineschnitzel, Jaegerschnitzer, Wienerschnitzer, Hasenpfeffer, stew and many other German dishes. All are served with red cabbage and out famous potato pancakes. In addition, we serve steaks, fish, char. chicken, soup and salad bar with all dinners.
